Lausanne - A scientific hotspot in Switzerland
The city of Lausanne is located in the French-speaking district of Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. It is the fourth-largest city in Switzerland with about 130,000 inhabitants. Lausanne is set apart by its reputation as an Olympic city, a sustainable city and a place of training and culture.
As a long-standing university town, with more than 25,000 students and tutors of 120 nationalities, Lausanne is proud to welcome training centers such as the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Institute for Management Development (IMD) and the University of Lausanne (UNIL). The extraordinary density of this web of expertise makes fertile ground for the transfer of a number of cutting-edge technologies, such as life sciences or biomedicine.
