The HBP School in Alpbach was organised by the HBP Education Programme Office and aimed at building a highly collaborative, transdisciplinary research community. The school established direct communication channels among young researchers in transdisciplinary fields within and outside the HBP Flagship.

A series of lectures was held during the day, with a free afternoon for a social programme. All oral contributions were presented in a lecture hall at the Congress Centre Alpbach. A poster session was held in the congress centre and participating students presented posters of their current research.

Participation in the first HBP School 2014 was open to postgraduate students working in one of the research areas covered by the project.
